Chief Instructors Randall Monaghan and Eloise Aguiar

Randall, Eloise and their Daughters Lilinoe and Mapu, started training at Hawaii Shotokan in 1986

Eloise received her shodan in 1991 and her godan in 2015.

They were awarded the most inspirational and outstanding member trophies.

Randall received his shodan in 1994 and his rokudan in 2015.

Sensei Sekiguchi had Randall teach the brown belt class for about 10 years. these students were dedicated and many became black belts.

Randall and Eloise contributed to the leadership, teaching, organization and management of Hawaii Shotokan Karate for more than 30 years, they enjoyed and appreciated the many learning experiences and camaraderie with Sensei Sekiguchi and the other senpai.

Eloise competed at many outside tournaments, and was awarded a top 10 ranking for women black belt

Randall competed in kata and kumite at SKIF, HOKK, IKF, Aloha State Games, and Easter Seals.

Randall and Eloise enjoyed learning from others including Kancho Hirokazu and Nobuaki Kanazawa, thank you to the SKIF insturctors who included us in their invitations.

Randall and Eloise participated in many Seiji Nishimura seminars and appreciated Manfred Nagel for his friendship.
